Plot Summary
A chameleon (Johnny Depp) who has lived as a sheltered family pet finds himself in the grip of an identity crisis. Rango wonders how to stand out when it is his nature to blend in. Though at first Rango only role-plays, a series of thrilling situations and outrageous encounters forces him to become a real hero.

  • Rango is like nothing you've ever seen. show more

  • I've made a good case for seeing Rango, and why not; an eye feast is still a feast in this lean multiplex season. Be advised, though, of the film's peculiar deficits. The narrative isn't really dramatic, despite several send-up face-offs. It's more like a succession of picturesque notions that might have flowed from DreamWorks or Pixar while their story departments were out to lunch. show more

  • Rango is best enjoyed by those over 10 who have an idea of what "existential" means and can appreciate a surreal mashup of "Chinatown," "Gladiator," "High Noon," and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." show more

Really great movie, particularly good for the family as a whole as the parents can relate and the kids are enthralled by the color and awe of all the different characters! there is even a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas reference!
