Amazons rule, everyone else drools!
"Wonder Woman's" tough women of Themyscira enraptured fans with their deadly archery skills, trick horse riding, and complete badass-ery, and it seems we'll see more of the Amazons in the forthcoming "Justice League."
In an interview with the L.A. Times, actresses Gal Gadot, Connie Nielsen, and Robin Wright teased the Amazons' role in the superhero team-up. And praise Zeus, somehow, Wright's deceased General Antiope will be in the mix.
In response to a question about seeing more of the relationship between Diana and mother Hippolyta, they said:
Gadot: Of course; the mother and daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship. I think that there's a lot more to explore.
Nielsen: And [Wright and I] got to do more in "Justice League" as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can't say much, but ...
Wright: And more of the story, you get some of the history.
Nielsen's role in "Justice League" is old news, but Wright's inclusion is a pleasant surprise. Since Antiope perished in "Wonder Woman," it's likely that Hippolyta and her sister will figure into a flashback. The trailer does hint at a major battle involving the Amazons.
"Justice League" opens in theaters November 17.
