Driven - Pride and Consequences in Competition

Joe Tanto: Hey Beau, if this is about pride, you'd better forget it, cause that's how this whole thing started.
Beau Brandenburg: What would you do?
Beau Brandenburg: You'd crawl?
Joe Tanto: Crawl!
Beau Brandenburg: Joe, you never crawl.
Joe Tanto: Yeah, I'd crawl until there was nothing left. C'mon champ use your head.

Driven - Confronting the Nature of Fear

Carl Henry: What about the fear?
Joe Tanto: It's gone.
Carl Henry: The fear is never gone.

Driven - The Power of Will and Faith

Joe Tanto: I got will and I got faith. I believe you can will yourself in anything and do anything. And faith, that is like believing in something, man that's like having a good disease. It's contagious, if you hang around with people who have it you're gonna catch it, and its gonna change your attitude.

The Expendables - Teamwork in a High-Stakes Challenge

Tool: [in a knife throwing contest with Lee Christmas; Lee throws knife near the center of the board] All right, baby, all right. Come on! Let's see what you got!
Hale Caesar: Oh! Oh!
Tool: [throws knife closer to the center] There's my boy!
Hale: Oh! Go... go... go south!
Barney Ross: [to Gunnar Jensen, who he earlier shot] So, you're back from the dead. How are you healin'?
Gunnar Jensen: [recovering from a gunshot wound three inches away from the heart] Good... considering you could have killed me.
Yin Yang: [referring to Gunnar's earlier attempt to kill him] I forgive you.
Gunnar: Okay.
Yin: [referring to their fight] I would've won.
Gunnar: [giving a thumbs and winking at Yin] Of course.
Toll Road: [who sees a therapist; Gunnar nods his head] Hey, Gunnar, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, brother: therapy.
Barney: The man's got a point.
Lee Christmas: [stops before throwing a knife and laughs; reciting a [[w:Limerick (poetry)|limerick] You know what? I'm gonna do you a favor, Tool. I once knew a man called Tool...
Barney: [Hale makes a confused face] I love poetry.
Lee: [Toll Road laughs; Yin and Toll laugh] To me, he was the epitome of cool. He was good with a knife... bad with the wife.
Barney: That hurt.
Lee: [speaking the film's final lines; the team shows a confused reaction; now standing in the street, shocks the Expendables by throwing a bull's eye] To think he could beat me, dreamin he'd defeat me, Cool Tool, you gotta be a fool! Oh yeah!

The Expendables - A Confrontation of Mercenaries and Betrayal

Barney Ross: [aiming at Munroe] Munroe!
James Munroe: [holding Sandra at gunpoint] Drop the weapons, or I will put a bullet through her eye! Don't test me.
Sandra Garza: [screaming] No, no!
Munroe: [to Sandra; to Barney, who is getting up, in reference to Mr. Church; [w:Central Intelligence Agency|Agency; referring to his control and drug business in Vilena; Barney is now on his feet and approaching] Shut up or I'll kill you. The ]'s parasites hired you, didn't they? I'd have paid you twice as much... to go fishing! You'd have to think I'm pretty freakin stupid to surrender to the Agency. Why would I do that? I created this. I made it all happen! And they wanted me out. Why? Because I saw the big picture! Stop walking! And what about me and you? We are both the same. We're both mercenaries. We're are both dead inside. So why the hell did you come after me?
Barney Ross: [Sandra breaks free of Munroe's hold] I didn't come after you, dipshit. I came for her!
Lee Christmas: [throws knife throws Munroe's back] Call it a tie.

The Expendables - A Risky Exchange Between Friends

Lee Christmas: [tapping his head after Barney barely misses it while shooting a soldier behind him] Are you crazy? You could've killed me!
Barney Ross: You're welcome.

The Expendables - Assessing the Situation's Flaws

Barney Ross: [after seeing Dan Paine and his men terrorize a local market] What's wrong with this picture?
Lee Christmas: Everything.

The Expendables - Introduction of Characters and Their Names

Sandra Garza: [meeting Lee Christmas and Barney Ross for the first time] What are your names?
Lee Christmas: [pointing to himself; pointing to Barney] Buda. Pest.
Sandra: [walks away] Follow me, please.
Barney Ross: [slowly turns to Lee; [w:Budapest|Buda and Pest.] ] Nice.

The Expendables - Negotiating Terms for a Job Opportunity

Barney Ross: Let's just keep it simple. If the money's right, we don't care where the job is. Got it?
Mr. Church: Let's quit jerkin off, get down to business, see who's hungry. We know your real name's probably not "Barney Ross". You don't need to know my name. The only thing you need to know is the job's real, and the money's real. But since we're in this nice place, you might as well just call me "Mr. Church".
Barney: Okay, Church, what can I do for you?
Mr. Church: In a minute. I'm still waiting for one more guy.
Barney: Who?
Church: You know him?
Barney: Yeah, we used to be on the same team together. What's my oldest, worst friend doin here?
Church: Both your names came to the top of the list. That a problem?
Barney: Yeah, should'a shot him when I had the chance.
Cigar-smoking man: [pointing his cigar toward Barney] Big Barney Ross!
Barney: [to Trent, mockingly raising his hands] Bigger Trent Mauser.
Trent Mauser: What are you doing here? Praying for work?
Barney: Could be.
Trent: Have you been sick? You've lost weight.
Barney: Really? Well, whatever weight I lost, you found, pal.
Church: [Barney looks suggestively at Trent and Church laughs sarcastically] You guys aren't gonna start sucking each other's dicks, are you? Let's get down to business, see who wants to work. You ever hear of an island called Vilena?
Barney: [to Church] No.
Trent: [to Church; [w:Gulf of Mexico|Gulf] Yeah. It's a little island in the ].
Church: [to Trent] That's right.
Trent: [to Barney] You should read more.
Barney: [sarcastically] Thanks.
Church: There are resources on that island that my people are very interested in.
Trent: But a general by the name of Garza has overthrown their half-ass government.
Church: That's right. My people have a problem with this fanatic Garza.
Barney: [to Church] So you want Garza gone?
Church: I want him dead!
Trent: [sarcastically] All it takes is a little army. Only an idiot would do this job.
Barney: [to Church] How much?
Trent: [to Church about Barney; winks at Barney; to Church; to Barney] Oh, like I said. Well, I'm busy anyway. So, give this job to my friend here. He loves playing in the jungle, right?
Barney Ross: [sarcastically] Right.
Church: [uncertain] That's right.
Trench: [to Barney] Hey, why don't we have dinner?
Barney: [to Trent] Sure, when?
Trench: In a thousand years.
Barney: Too soon.
Church: [confused about Trent] What's his fucking problem?
Barney Ross: [Trent looks back at Barney] He wants to be president. I've gotta recon this island first.
Church: I got a contact for you on the island.
Barney: [after Trent exits the church; to Church] Good riddance. I've got a feeling everyone else has passed on this job, so our fee is five-mil.
Church: [surprised; to Barney] Five mil?
Barney: I want half up front and the other half in an offshore account. You got a problem with that?
Church: [shaking his head; mockingly] No. What I have a problem with is people trying to fuck me over! So if you take this money and you don't deliver, you try to fuck me in some kind of weird, cockamamie scheme of yours, me and my people are gonna come get you and your people, and chop you up into little, fucking dog treats. You got a problem with that?
Barney: [shrugging his shoulders] Let's talk.

The Expendables - Miscommunication During a Tense Moment

Gunnar Jensen: [lifting a grenade launcher] Warning shot!
Gunnar: [fires at the leader and rips him in half] A little low...

The Expendables - Commentary on Firearm Noise

Barney Ross: [After Hale Caesar fired a full [[w:drum magazine|drum magazine] ] of his AA-12 shotgun] Damn, that thing's loud!

Demolition Man - Finding Balance in a Controlled Society

Chief George Earle: What will we do? How will we live?
Edgar Friendly: I'll tell you what we're gonna do... we're gonna go out drinking, get shit-faced and paint the town literally; put up graffiti, slogans... it'll be a blast!
John Spartan: [turns to Earle; turns to Scraps] Whoa, whoa, whoa! I'm gonna tell you what you're gonna do: Why don't you get a little dirty... ...and you, a lot clean. And somewhere in the middle... I don't know, you'll figure it out.
Alfredo Garcia: Fuckin A!
Spartan: Well put.

Demolition Man - A Moment of Cold Reflection

John Spartan: Is it cold in here, or is it just me?
Simon Phoenix: Good memory.

Demolition Man - Misunderstandings About Intimacy in Demolition Man

Lenina Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
John Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you yet.
Huxley: But I thought you wanted to make love.
Spartan: Is that what you call this?
Huxley: [puts Spartan's helmet back on his head] Vir-sex has been proven to produce higher orders of alpha waves during digitized transference of sexual energies.
Spartan: [removes it again] All right, Huxley, what do you say we just do it the old-fashioned way?
Huxley: Ugh, disgusting! You mean... fluid transfer?
Spartan: No, I mean boning, the wild mambo, the hunka chunka...
Huxley: That is no longer done. The exchange of bodily fluids - do you know what that leads to?
Spartan: Yeah, I do! Kids, smoking, a desire to raid the fridge.
Huxley: The rampant exchange of bodily fluids was one of the major reasons for the downfall of society. After AIDS, there was NRS; after NRS, there was UBT. And one of the first things that Dr. Cocteau was able to do was to outlaw and behaviorally engineer all fluid transfer out of societally acceptable behavior. Not even - not even mouth transfer's condoned.
Spartan: [Huxley shudders at the thought] Kissing's not allowed? Damn, I was a good kisser.

Demolition Man - Mixed Reactions to Unusual Food Experience

Lenina Huxley: I think I'm going to be sick.
John Spartan: [takes a bite, enjoys it] Oh. Oh, God...
Alfredo Garcia: [nauseated] Oh...
Spartan: This is fantastic. You guys gotta try this.
Garcia: Oh, my.
Huxley: Just don't ask where the meat comes from.
Spartan: Huxley, what's that supposed to mean?
Huxley: Do you see any cows around here, Detective?
Spartan: [to vendor, in Spanish] ¿Qué es esta carne? (What is this meat?)
Burger vendor: Esta carne es de rata. (This meat is from rats.)
Spartan: [surprised; vendor nods] Rat. This is a rat burger. Not bad! Matter of fact, this is the best burger I've had in years!
Burger vendor: Gracias, señor. (Thank you, sir.)
Spartan: [coughing, in Italian] Prego. (You're welcome.) See you later.

Demolition Man - Unexpected Presidential Legacy of a Hollywood Actor

Lenina Huxley: I have been an enthusiast of your escapades for quite some time. I have, in fact, perused some newsreels from the Schwarzenegger Library, and that time that you took that car...
John Spartan: Hold it. The Schwarzenegger Library?
Huxley: [[Arnold Schwarzenegger|Schwarzenegger] Yes. The ] Presidential Library. Wasn't he an actor when you...?
Spartan: Stop! He was President?
Huxley: Yes! Even though he was not born in this country, his popularity at the time caused the 61st Amendment which states...
Spartan: [incredulously] I don't wanna know... President...

Demolition Man - Museum Incident and Unwelcome Visitor

Museum PA: The Armory exhibit is now sealed. All museum patrons still occupying the facility should remain calm. Help is imminent.
Simon Phoenix: The museum is no longer sealed, is it? Ha-ha! What can I say? I'm a blast from the past!
John Spartan: You shoulda stayed there.
Phoenix: [opens fire and forces Spartan to take cover] Oh, boy, that voice sounds familiar. Who is that?
Spartan: Bad aim, Blondie!
Phoenix: [shoots again; Spartan grabs some guns and dives for cover] Spartan? John Spartan? Oh, shit, they let anybody into this century! What the hell are you doing here? Simon says, "Bleed!
Spartan: [to himself; aloud] Great. Just great. You're making it too easy for me, Phoenix!
Phoenix: [waiting for his AcMag gun to charge up; to Spartan; shoots to distract Spartan and escapes into another exhibit hall] Come on, you space-age piece of shit. So let me get this right. They defrosted you just so you could lasso my piddly ass? Damn, you been had! I've been dreaming about killing you for 40 years.
Spartan: Yeah? Well, keep dreaming!

Demolition Man - Desire to Escape from Current Situation

John Spartan: [Upon learning that commercial jingles are now considered popular music] Somebody put me back in the fridge.

Demolition Man - The Weight of Time in Crisis

John Spartan: When a man like Phoenix has a gun to your head, ten seconds is nine and a half seconds longer than you live.

Rambo III - A Standoff with No Escape

Zaysen: Drop your weapons! Now! You have no chance of escape! Come forward! I wish to take you back alive! This is your last warning! The choice is yours!
Colonel Trautman: What do you say John?
John Rambo: [opens fire] ...Fuck em.

Rambo III - Journey from Arizona: A Long Walk

Hamid: Where do you come from?
John Rambo: Arizona.
Hamid: How many days walk?
Rambo: Two years.

Rambo III - Unexpected Encounters in Rambo III

Mousa Chanin: I am Mousa Chanin. What is it you want?
John Rambo: I was sent by Griggs.
Mousa: You do not look like men Griggs sent before. You not look like you are with military.
Rambo: I'm not.
Mousa: What you are? A mercenary?
Rambo: No.
Mousa: [grins] You're not a military, you're not a mercenary, what are you? Lost tourist?
Rambo: [walks closer to Mousa, unsettling him] ...I'm not a tourist.

Rambo III - Rambo Faces Unexpected Challenges in Mission

Robert Griggs: Rambo! Something went wrong.
John Rambo: What happened?
Griggs: Soviets intercepted the team, just over the border. Among we've gathered, Trautman and the rest of his party have been taken to the regional commandment post.
Rambo: And what are you doing about it?
Griggs: [starts to leave] I can't do anything about it. I'm sorry... I just thought you should know.
Rambo: [beat] What about me?
Griggs: What about you?
Rambo: Can you get me in?
Griggs: You're not serious.
Rambo: [sternly] Oh yeah, I'm serious.
Griggs: It can't be done officially.
Rambo: Then make it unofficial.
Griggs: If it can be done... I want you to know upfront that if you're captured, or any of this leaks, we'll deny any participation, or even knowledge of your existence.
Rambo: I'm used to it.

Rambo III - A Reunion Between Old Allies

John Rambo: So where you coming from?
Colonel Samuel Trautman: Washington. Good to see you again!
Rambo: Yeah, you too.
Trautman: Do you want to tell me about it?
Rambo: About what?
Trautman: About yesterday, I've seen you stick fighting in a warehouse in Bangkok.
Rambo: You saw that?
Trautman: Yeah. And today I find you, working in a monastery.
Rambo: They let me live here and I help out, fixing things.
Trautman: And the stick fighting?
Rambo: I just do that for their lack of money.
Trautman: Yeah...I saw you give it to the monks.
Rambo: [referring to Trautman's company] You see a lot. Colonel, who are they?
Trautman: They're part of the reason I'm here. This is Robert Griggs, he's a field officer of our local embassy.
Robert Griggs: John Rambo? Pleasure. Well, you're sure not easy to find!
Rambo: Why are you keepin track?
Griggs: Well, like the Colonel says, good men are hard to find! John, I'd like you to take a look at some of these photos. I don't know how much you know about Afghanistan. Most people can't even find it on a map! But over two million civilians, mostly peasants farmers and their families, have been systematically slaughtered by invading Russian armies. Every new weapon, including chemical warfare, has been used to eliminate these people. And they've been very successful, at many levels. I assume that you're out of touch with the current states of the war. But after nine years of fighting, the Afghan Forces are now getting their Stinger missiles, and are now beginning to hold their own against the Air-Strikes. Except for one region. Apparently, the Soviet Commander there is exceptionally brutal, as those photos indicate. And he's managed to string along all aid from the outside. So we want to investigate the problem firsthand.
Rambo: And what that's got to do with me?
Trautman: They've asked me to go in.
Rambo: You're not gonna do it?
Trautman: Yes. And I want you to come with me, John.
Rambo: I put in my time.
Griggs: What does that mean?
Rambo: [to Griggs; walks off] It means my war is over.
Griggs: [to Trautman] I thought you said he was this great soldier. Well, Colonel...looks like we've got a long walk down those stairs.
Trautman: Don't be tough on him, he's just following orders.
Trautman: This mission's important, John.
Rambo: Do you really think we can make a difference?
Trautman: If I didn't, I wouldn't be going.
Rambo: It didn't before.
Trautman: That was another time. Come with me, John.
Rambo: I don't know what you think about this place, but I like it. I like bein here, I like workin here. I like belong into something.
Trautman: You do belong into something. Not this. When you're gonna come full circle?
Rambo: What are you talkin about?
Trautman: You said that your war is over. I think the one out there is, but not the one inside you. I know the reasons you're here, John. But it doesn't work that way. You may try, but you can't get away from what you really are.
Rambo: And what is it I am?
Trautman: A full-blooded combat soldier.
Rambo: Not any more. I don't want it.
Trautman: That's too bad, cause you're stuck with it. Let me tell you a story, John. There was a sculptor and he found a stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months, until he finally finished. When he was ready, he showed it to his friends, and they said he had created a great statue. The sculptor said he hadn't created anything. The statue was always there. He just cleared away the small pieces. We didn't make you this fighting machine. We just chipped away the rough edges. Your own is gonna be tearing away with yourself, until you come to terms with what you are! Until you come full circle.
Rambo: I guess I'm not ready yet.
Trautman: Well, I got to move. Promise me you'll look for me when you're back in the States.
Rambo: [as Trautman starts to walk off] I promise. Colonel! I'm sorry. But it's gotta end for me sometime.
Trautman: [beat, nods] I understand.

Rambo III - Acknowledging Past Actions in Combat

John Rambo: [Reply to the Afghan freedom fighter who inquired if he had used guns in the past] I've fired a few shots.

Rambo - Seeking Acceptance in a Changing World

John Rambo: Go live your life cause you've got a good one.
Sarah: It's what I'm trying to do.
Rambo: No, what you're trying to do is change what is.
Sarah: And what is?
Rambo: That we're like animals! It's in the blood! It's natural! Peace? That's an accident! It's what is! When you're pushed, killing's as easy as breathing. When the killing stops in one place, it starts in another, but that's okay... cause you're killing for your country. But it ain't your country who asks you, it's a few men up top who want it. Old men start it, young men fight it, nobody wins, everybody in the middle dies... and nobody tells the truth! God's gonna make all that go away? ... Don't waste your life, I did. Go home.

Rambo - Rambo warns about dangers of Burma

Burnett: I was told it might be possible to rent your boat. We'd like to do that. Is that possible? We need to get upriver.
John Rambo: Where are you going?
Burnett: Into Burma.
Rambo: Burma's a war zone.
Burnett: Well, that's what people call it, but it's more like genocide than war. Anyway, this will be my fifth trip in, so we're aware of the risks.
Rambo: I don't go that far north.
Burnett: Let me explain our situation. Our church is part of a pan-Asian ministry, located in Colorado. We are all volunteers who, around this time of year, bring in medical supplies, medical attention, prayer books, and support to the Karen tribes people. People say you know the river better than anyone.
Rambo: They ain't lying.
Burnett: So what I'm asking is that we compensate you for a few hours of your time that will help change people's lives.
Rambo: Are you bringing any weapons?
Burnett: Of course not.
Rambo: You're not changing anything.
Burnett: Well, it's thinking like that that keeps the world the way it is.
Rambo: [walking away] Fuck the world.

Put him on the line! Ned, can you hear me? Talk to me. Talk to me, Ned. Your playmates know what kind of man you are? Why the Agency fired you? That killing people was like jerking off for you? Watching those bloody bodies going though the air gets you off. Talk to me. When you crawl into your hole at night alone... and you are alone, aren't you? Tell me what burns you the most. Losing your job as a CIA attack dog... or knowing that I turned you in and I'm still alive? Talk to me! You'll sell your service to the highest bidder! You stinking maggot!
Ned Trent: Fuck you, Ray! FUCK YOU!!! You killed! Your bombs! How many? 10, 50, 100, before you lost count? It was your bombs on the bridge in Bogota! Your bomb in the cabana! But you're getting sloppy, Ray. You broke your famous code, didn't you? You killed an innocent bystander, Ray and it's just is eating you up inside, isn't it? You were always too fucking sensitive, but guess what? I'm coming Ray. I'm coming to take all the pain away. I'm gonna fucking cut it right out of you, and I'm gonna close your heart in my hand. I'm right behind you and I know you. I know you!
Ray: You've got no mercy. You got no fucking loyalty. And you got no code.
Ned: Listen to me, you son of a bitch-
Ray: [looks at watch; hangs up] All right Time's up, 58 seconds.
Ned: [tries recorder; pries out and throws down tape reel; everybody in the room looks at him; to tech] Ray? Ray! Goddamn it! Son of a bitch! I'll fucking kill you! I'll vaporize your ass! What're you looking at? Turn around! Nobody... says a word. Tell me that you got a trace. Just tell me.

Ray Quick: Nowhere.
Tomas: [grabs Ray; Ray starts to walks away but Tomas grabs him] Nowhere. You like the bitch? Huh? Maybe you like me.
Ray: No, I don't like you.
Tomas: [pulls out switchblade] Then don't stare so hard. Somebody could... put something in your eye.

Donnie: These dudes killed my pops. Now they’re parading around, talking shit. I can’t let that slide. I’m the champ, right?
Rocky: Yeah.
Donnie: So I ain’t got a choice.
Rocky: Choice? That’s the same thing your father said, and he died right here, in my hands. Look what his choice put your mother through. You don’t want to really bring all that stuff up again, do you, kid?
Donnie: I thought you would get it. If I don’t take this fight, I got to live with it right now.
Rocky: That kid was raised in hate, you know what I’m talking about? You weren’t. Don’t do it.
Donnie: But you did.
Rocky: It’s different.
Donnie: It was different?
Rocky: A lot different. I was supposed to be in there with Drago that night and not your father, and I could’ve thrown in the towel, but I didn’t. And I got to live with that. And when I did get in that ring, that guy broke things in me that ain’t never been fixed. It’s not worth it. Not at all. Why do you want to fight?
Donnie: What are you talking about? I just told you why.
Rocky: No, you didn’t, Donnie. Why do you want to fight? I get why they want to fight you. I know what they’re fighting for. What about you? Listen to me, you got everything to lose. He’s got nothing to lose. When a fighter ain’t got nothing to lose, he’s dangerous!

But, I actually wanted to mix it up, get in on the action. Uh, this one time, we're stuck out in this hell-hole valley. About 30 ] opened up from these house above us. And they got about eight of us pinned down bad. So I called in for artillery support. But; "no way", says the captain. Didn't wanna endanger the locals. So we scattered. Some crawled to a ditch, some... to the dry riverbed and the rest bailed, but... we were still stuck in the kill zone. And we battled for... I don't know, three hours. And finally, an Apache gunship chopper showed up to provide air cover. Scattered the Hadjis, but... smoke clears and four of my squad are dead in the ditch and two in the riverbed. Yeah, I was... mad and sick, all dead for nothing. You know, the most... screwed thing up of all... is when I got back to base that night, I found out that they shot this stray dog I had adopted. Creed - Focus on the Fight Ahead

Adonis "Donnie" Johnson Creed: This shit for real?
Rocky Balboa: Doesn't matter. What you should be thinking about is that fight coming up. That's the only thing that should be on your mind, nothing else.
Donnie: What you mean, don't think about this? When you starting treatment?
Rocky: I'm not doing no chemotherapy. No.
Donnie: If you don't jump on this quick, you're gonna end up dying.
Rocky: I know.
Donnie: And you're all right with that?
Rocky: I am.
Donnie: Man, you sound crazy, man. Give me the keys. I'll take you to the hospital right now.
Rocky: I'm not crazy at all. If I could take everything that was good and put it into a bowl or something and say, "Hey! Here. I'd like to buy one more day with my wife," I'd do it. I would die a happy man, right then. Not gonna happen. So, everything I got has moved on and I'm here, but you know what? It's okay. Because I said to myself, "If I break, if I'm hurt, whatever. I ain't gonna fix it. Why bother?
Donnie: And I'm just some bum just living in your crib, just nothing.
Rocky: [points to old posters on locker room wall; Donnie pauses and storms out] You're a good kid, a good fighter. But you got your whole future ahead of you. Mine? Back there, like all them guys on that wall. In the back, in the past. We're going nowhere. I am to you just an old trainer. That's what brought us together. You know? We're not a real family. That was just in our heads, kid.

Creed - Discussion of Past Fights and Memories

Rocky Balboa: How you doing?
Adonis "Donnie" Johnson:: This was taken from the 10th round of the first fight, right?
Rocky: [takes off his glasses] Good call. How'd you know that?
Donnie: I heard about a third fight between you and Apollo behind closed doors. That true?
Rocky: How'd you hear about that?
Donnie: Who won?
Rocky: Its kind of a secret. What'd you say your name was?
Donnie: Donnie.
Rocky: The girl said you wanted to talk about something.
Donnie: Yeah, I want to talk to you about training me.
Rocky: [chuckles] Training you? I don't do that stuff no more. Sorry about that. Listen, it's getting kind of late, kid. So I'm gonna close up--
Donnie: How good was he?
Rocky: Who? Apollo? Yeah, he was great. He's a perfect fighter. Ain't nobody ever better.
Donnie: So how'd you beat him?
Rocky: Time beat him. Time takes everybody out, it's undefeated. Anyway, I gotta lock up.
Donnie: When Mickey died, he came and talked to you, right? Talked you out of quitting? Took you to L.A., trained you...brought you back.
Rocky: How do you know all this?
Donnie: How do you think?
Rocky: [looks at the photo before turning back to Donnie] What are you, like, a cousin?
Donnie: He's my father.
Rocky: No, he isn't. I don't believe you.
Donnie: Call Mary Anne.
Rocky: Mary Anne. His wife.
Donnie: The house number still works. Oh, that's right. You haven't talked to her since the funeral. She said you gave a nice speech, though.
Rocky: Yeah. Nice speech.
Donnie: I want you to train me. I need somebody solid and who else better to go to? You at least owe me that.
Rocky: I can tell the way you talk, you been to school. So I figure you got some brains. Why would you want to pick a fighter's life when you don't have to? If Apollo was around, he would tell you that, too.
Donnie: Well, he ain't around. I been fighting my whole life. I ain't got a choice.
Rocky: It's always about a choice. I was in the ring. I saw how it went down. That fight should've been stopped. I should have stopped it.
Donnie: Maybe he wanted to go out like a fighter. Maybe, you did exactly what he wanted.
Rocky: [gets a closer look at Donnie] I think he'd rather be here, talking with you. There is a resemblance. I'm usually here all the time so if you're ever in the neighborhood, come by if you need something.
Donnie: I'll be at Mickey's Gym tomorrow.
Rocky: I don't go there. I haven't been there in a long time.
Donnie: Since we're pretty much like family... who won the third fight?
Rocky: [looks to Apollo's picture] He did.

Stakar Ogord: There’s a hundred Ravager factions. You lost the business of 99 of them by serving one.
Innkeeper's Wife: Please, sir. Please!
Stakar Ogord: [''Pushing her away''] Get away from me.
Yondu: [''Shouting after him''] YOU CAN GO TO HELL, THEN! I don't give a damn what you think of me!
Stakar Ogord: So what are you following us for?!
Yondu: Because you're gonna listen to what I gotta say!
Stakar Ogord: I don't gotta listen to nothing! You betrayed the code! Ravagers don't deal in kids!
Yondu: I told you before! I didn't know what was going on!
Stakar Ogord: You didn't know cause you didn't want to know, cause it made you rich!
Yondu: [''Desperately''] I demand a seat at the table! I wear these flames, same as you!
Stakar Ogord: [''In a quieter, more sad tone''] You may dress like us, but you'll never hear the hordes of freedom when you die, Yondu, and the colours of Ogord will never flash over your grave. If you think I take pleasure in exiling you, you're wrong. You broke all our hearts.
