Wissam Charaf Biography
Born in Beirut in 1973, Wissam Charaf is a filmmaker and journalist. He worked as assistant director on the music videos of Noir Désir, Sinead O’Connor and Ingrid Caven. He has made six short films including Hizz Ya Wizz, Un héros ne meurt jamais and Après. His first feature film, Fallen from the Sky, was selected at ACID – Cannes. Dirty Difficult Dangerous, his second feature film, won the Europa Cinemas Award at the Festival of Venice in 2022.
In 2023, his new short film, If the Sun Drowned Into an Ocean of Clouds, was presented as part of the official selection in Venice, and won the Special Jury Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival 2024.
