Ferrari Review

A superb Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz keep ‘Ferrari’ on the road. Director Michael Mann gets behind the wheel for the uneven ‘Ferrari,’ with Adam Driver as the race car legend and Penelope Cruz as his fiery wife.

Opening in theaters on December 25th is ‘Ferrari,’ starring Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadon, Gabriel Leone, and Patrick Dempsey. It’s interesting that ‘Ferrari’ is coming out around the same time as another biopic of a famous 20th century figure, ‘Maestro,’ and even more intriguing that both are heavily invested in the women at the center of their subjects’ lives. But while ‘Maestro’ takes an expansive look at the life of composer Leonard Bernstein, ‘Ferrari’ focuses on one brief period in the life of race car driver, team leader, and auto manufacturer Enzo Ferrari.
