Cliched teenage angst about the bomb. Ell Fanning and Alice Englert did very well portraying their characters. Loved a lot of the political ideals and quotes. But this movie is slow to get no where. Great actors like Annette Bening and Oliver Platt couldn't save the monotony of this movie. YAWN!

terrible slow plodding drama of teenage angst in a 60's unconventional dysfuntional britis home. a good cast and fine acting don't slavage the insipid story and ponderous direction. pass on this one.

Very simple story, very simple dialogue, thought it missed the mark...i don't recommend except as a rental.

Sally Potter has created a major masterpiece: GINGER AND ROSA works enormously well on so many levels?from the intimately private to the grandly political, from issues of childishness to maturity (as both are to be found and not found in young people as well as in nominal adults), from personal striving to interpersonal responsibility, from raw feelings to lofty intellect, and from the challenge

About a month ago, I was taken to see an early screening of this film; one of the most torturous films I ever sat down in front of. Elle Fanning & Alice Englert were perfect in their roles but writer/director Sally Potter clearly could never decide what film she was making - a constant in her work.

With Ginger & Rosa, Sally Potter manages to avoid nearly every pratfall of such period pieces, focusing on extreme alienation rather than enlightenment, and wringing a powerful and jaundiced coming-of-age story from the decade's less trod corners. Full Review

Despite some strong moments, Ginger and Rosa fails to really convince. Full Review

An intriguingly complex portrait of both of its characters and of the time of flux they live in. Full Review

Total Film
Spearheaded by a strikingly self-assured turn from Elle Fanning, this ’60s-set coming-of-ager follows two teenage girls whose bond starts to crumble under the emotional and political pressures of adulthood. Full Review
