Guardians of the Galaxy does the impossible. Through dazzle and dumb luck, it turns the clichés of comic-book films on their idiot heads and hits you like an exhilarating blast of fun-fun-fun. It's insanely, shamelessly silly – just one reason to love it. show more

Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty much where action movies are these days - a combination of comedy without wit, action without drama and elaborate visuals that are nothing much to look at. show more

With its introduction of wonderfully memorable characters and blend of humor, action and catchy tunes, Guardians is perfectly pitched escapist fun. show more

A likable lightweight, though it's heavy enough on cosmic combat and dazzling effects. show more

The gadgetry and fight scenes are nicely rendered. The aeronautical battles, though, fall well short of state-of-the-art. Maybe they're collateral damage to the film's goofy style. show more

To see an expensive, big-studio movie freed from creative constraints and directorial cynicism is always a rare and wondrous experience. In a season of bloated indulgence, it’s also fair to call it a marvel. show more

    Justin Lowe The Hollywood Reporter

Overall, the writers have crafted a well-articulated universe with distinct settings and relatable, compelling characters devoted to a thrilling quest for redemption. show more

Unlike the stiff-jawed heroics of the other Marvel films, this feels a little looser and lighter, with Pratt as charming, amoral accidental leader Peter Quill, an earthling among the stars who, as he will tell you, is also known as the roving brigand “Starlord.” show more

[A] blend of classic sci-fi fare and current pop-culture irony is what rockets “Guardians” into the stratosphere. show more

Sorry about the repeating reviews. I thought it wasn't posting and I kept hitting submit. Then I realized they were going through. Trying to delete them but I don't think I can.

I absolutely loved this movie, I just don't get people not liking this movie. The characters were awesome, the CGI was amazing, and I thought it was pretty damn funny. I will certainly be buying this 1 in 3D for my movie collection. I'm no kid either, I'm 50 years old. It had me smiling and I just loved the end scene with the Jackson 5 song playing. I walked away happy and very entertained. I would recommend people of all ages to go see this movie on the big screen. Cant wait for the next 1!

This movie was a lot of fun. Those that have reviewed it and given it a lower rating cannot be fans of the comics or science fiction in general. This movie had heart, great character development, and tons of action & special effects. See it! I will likely see it again.

I have to say this is the most fun film of the summer so far. I took my 9 year old and we both laughed, and enjoyed the whole thing. Yes, it's the predictable good guy, underdog defeating the bad guy, but the interaction between the characters were just wonderful. The special effects, action, just everything was great. And the bad guys are really bad!! I'd recommend this to anyone who just wants to have fun for a couple of hours. Like I said, no deep plot, but just some good old fashion fun.

Ok I was not interested in this movie and went to see it because my b/f wanted to see it and I don't get how anyone would not like this movie I loved it and The theater we went to was just loving this movie. If you have a sense of humor and understand that its not meant to be a "serious" movie you should have enjoyed it. I laughed so much and loved Groot and Rocket A:LOT.
