Luke Islam Biography

Luke Islam shot to national attention in 2019 when he competed on Season 14 of NBC's hit televised talent show competition, "America's Got Talent." His rendition of "She Used to Be Mine" from the Broadway musical Waitress impressed judge Julianne Hough so much that she pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending him straight to the Quarterfinals as well as viral acclaim.

Although he was eliminated from the semifinals of America's Got Talent, Luke was invited back the next month to compete again on Season 2 of their beloved spin-off "America's Got Talent: The Champions." The show premiered on NBC in January of 2020. Following his success on AGT, Islam made his professional acting debut in the series regular role of Jaden 'Koob' Koobler on the sports comedy-drama television series, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

The series premiered on Disney+ on March 26, 2021. In August 2021, it was renewed for a second season which premiered on September 28, 2022. In addition, Islam starred in the coming-of-age comedy-drama film, 13: The Musical. After principal photography in the Summer 2021 was complete, the movie spent a year in post-production & premiered on Netflix in August of 2022.

3 months later, Islam made his solo performance debut at NYC's iconic 54 Below on November 4, 2022. After selling out the first concert, Luke was invited back to perform an encore show the next month. Most recently, playing the supporting role of Christopher L, Islam was featured in the critics' pick mockumentary comedy film, Theater Camp. After premiering in competition at Sundance Film Festival 2023, it was distributed nationwide to over 500 select theaters by Searchlight Pictures on July 14, 2023 and has grossed almost $3,000,000 at the box office.

While not being away filming, Luke lends his talents in support of many different charitable organizations such as UNICEF, the Entertainment Community Fund, and You Gotta Believe. In addition, Luke loves nothing more than being an audience member at any Broadway show he can attend.
