"Holy Father, please forgive me," Mark Wahlberg said to Pope Francis in a comical apology for his raunchy comedy "Ted."

The actor was onstage at Philadelphia's World Meeting of Families event, headlined by Pope Francis, when he issued a mea culpa after learning a teen with the "voice of an angel" - who performed for the pontiff - "whispered" to him that he's a fan of the vulgar flick.

In addition to the R-rated comedy, Wahlberg has some other film credits that he wanted to seek forgiveness for.

"I've always hoped that the good Lord has a sense of humor, when it comes and pertains to many of the movies that I've made," the 44-year-old Catholic added.
