Veering between sentimentality and exploitation with a few misguided stops at raunchy sex farce, Reign Over Me never finds a tone to suit its purpose. show more

As moving as some parts are, it's muddled by a script that tries to pack in too much. There's sufficient material for a couple of films and a sitcom. show more

This is not a simple, uplifting tale. It's never clear whether Charlie will fully recover, and that sense of realism is the film's strength. show more

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. You wouldn\'t expect Adam Sandler to do so well in this sort of role. This one made me cry and smile, what more could you ask for. Adam Sandler showed how much range his acting can really have.

I purchased this movie and WOW, hit it right on the nose, I have PTSD and it is an awesome tool to also show anyone how the aftermath of a trauma affects us who have it. I t came so close to home for me and I didn\'t even think it would cause mine wasn\'t from 911 but something else but I knew it was amazingly true to form because inside told me when a certain scene in the courtroom sent me into crying my eyes out literally and even after 2nd and 3rd viewing. Just amazing. I say that because it is very difficult for those who do not have this condition to understand but now that I have this movie, all I\'ll have to do to reveal my inner emotional responses is to allow anyone interested in knowing me better and what I deal with is to put the movie on for them to watch. We, of course, will do almost anything to avoid remembering such pain because it is permanent and just too much for our minds to process at the time. I recommend this movie very highly and wherever they got all the (finally) right information is refreshing for me and genius.

As we come to the tenth anniversary, this film makes me ponder about suffering and hardship.A dentist(Cheadle), tries to keep in touch with his college buddy(Sandler) who lost everything in the aftermath.Sandler is really riveting,as the widower who lost his own family that day.Unfortunately, the court system wants to declare him incompetent. The scenes of rage and anger are compelling, that we wish someone would remember the calm of September 10th,2001.The next morning, would be bitter horror and dispair.Great acting by Cheadle and Sandler!
