"The Conners" Season 1 (Tuesday on ABC at 8 p.m.)
"The Rookie" Season 1 (Tuesday on ABC at 10 p.m.)ABC/Robert Trachtenberg
Roseanne Conner is dead. Long live The Conners? ABC fired Roseanne Barr from the "Roseanne" revival, but kept the rest of the family and gave them their own show. That premieres Tuesday at 8, followed by "The Kids Are all Right" at 8:30 pm., "black-ish" Season 5 at 9 p.m., and "Splitting Up Together" Season 2 at 9:30 p.m. Then "Castle" star Nathan Fillion returns to ABC for his new cop series "The Rookie."
"The Sentence" (Monday on HBO at 8 p.m.)
"My Dinner With Hervé" (Saturday on HBO at 8 p.m.)
HBO has a couple of big titles this week -- starting with the documentary "The Sentence" on October 15, then the film "My Dinner With Hervé" on October 20.
In "The Sentence," filmmaker Rudy Valdez draws from hundreds of hours of footage to show the aftermath of his sister Cindy’s 15-year sentence for conspiracy charges related to crimes committed by her deceased ex-boyfriend -- something known, in legal terms, as 'the girlfriend problem.'" "My Dinner With Herve" was inspired by director Sacha Gervasi’s own experiences. The film follows a struggling journalist’s (Jamie Dornan) story of his unlikely friendship with actor Hervé Villechaize (Peter Dinklage), the world’s most famous knife-wielding French dwarf, as it unfolds over one wild night in L.A. -- an encounter that will have life-changing consequences for both.
"Arrow" Season 7 (Monday on The CW at 8 p.m.)
Half of the Arrowverse returned last week, but not "Arrow" itself (or "Legends of Tomorrow," which starts next week). Stephen Amell and company return October 15 with the Season 7 premiere, "Inmate 4587":
"Following Oliver's (Amell) shocking decision to turn himself over to the FBI and reveal his identity as the Green Arrow to the public, Oliver has spent the past five months in Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Determined to keep a low profile to shorten his sentence for the sake of his family, Oliver is tested when he runs into old foes. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) have taken on new jobs and left their costumes behind but not everyone is following suit. With her focus on William (guest star Jack Moore), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) tries to start over but when someone from her past resurfaces, things become complicated."
