Inside Out

PG| 1 hr. 35 min.

Plot Summary

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

I beg to differ with the reviews I have read on this movie. Not for 6 year olds, because they don't understand the meaning trying to be portrayed by these cute characters. As far as saying Riley is "borrowing" her mother's credit card..............bad idea to show a child taking something from her mother's purse and running away as a way of dealing with her emotions. I absolutely love Disney movies and take my grandchildren to all them when they come out. " Inside Out" was very disappointing to me and my 6 and 9 year grandchildren. We all left the theatre wishing we went to see another movie instead. A total waste of $30.00.

This film brings you back into your childhood days. From good, sad, and resentful memories, this brings you and the entire family into life's lessons of emotions. The characters are genuine, exotic, colorful, loving, hilarious, and caring. The difference between the outside human world and the inside emotions world is that it is more cartoonish inside one's mind. This film is a great one for all ages to love, to be sad, and to be glad of the friends you have inside and out!
